!open relationships thread!

 :sparkling_heart:Making an open relationship thread here for those who want to talk about and ask questions all about open relationships! :heartpulse: :boom:

8 years into my marriage, I asked my husband if he would be into opening up our marriage. It was a disaster. He definitely was not and took it as a sign of his personal shortcoming. Now that I’m divorced and exploring more about who I am and what I want in life, I am definitely interested in exploring an ethically non monogamous relationship moving forward. I have no idea how it’s going to go and im sure it’ll take a lot of work, but so does a traditional monogamous relationship. I just want to be as honest and authentic of a person that I can. Let’s see how this goes!!

If two people communicate well, have respect, trust and love each other and it works for them…cool! Not 100% if it’s for me. I’m in a relationship now and can’t imagine it.
Different strokes for different folks.

I think you’re right. Communication is key. Sometimes there are consequences to opening up and sharing your needs, but then there are consequences to not doing that too. I’d rather err on the side of personal truth.

Sounds like you’re gonna have fun! :yum: :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Love this category by the way. I’ve never married. The notion of one person forever was too big a decision to which I could commit. Until reading various threads on this site, I had no idea how many women are toying with the idea of non-monogamy. It’s great to have this open discussion and advice available.
